An advent calendar for the 28 days in which OpenAI ships something every day for Codex and ChatGPT Work. One door per day, filled in with what actually shipped, and a vote on every one.
Where the 28 days come from
Tibo of the Codex team at OpenAI (@thsottiaux) announced that for 28 days, every day brings one of two things: a clear improvement that matters to most Codex and ChatGPT Work users, or a full usage reset. GPT Advent turns those days into a calendar, from Mon 5 Oct to Sun 1 Nov 2026.
How a door gets filled in
Once OpenAI has shipped, that day's door gets what shipped: a title, a short summary and links to the source. Every door is one of two kinds:
- Shipped: an improvement for Codex or ChatGPT Work.
- Full reset: a reset of everyone's usage instead.
A new door opens at midnight San Francisco time, because that's where the ships come from. A door that hasn't opened yet stays shut, however hard you press it.
Opening doors
Doors you open on the calendar stay open on this device: your browser remembers them in its own local storage, and nothing about it is sent to us. The × inside a door closes it again. Every door also has its own page, from day 1 to day 28.
Voting
- One vote per door per IP address. An IPv6 address counts by its /64, the block one connection is given.
- Press your vote again to take it back, or press the other one to change it.
- The counts are live: everyone looking at the calendar sees each vote as it lands.
- We keep a keyed hash of your address next to your vote, never the address itself.
The data
Every door, with its state and its counts, is at /api/days.json, free to use.
